Large Scale & Complete Supply Chain
China has the biggest amount of factories in the world, which means you can find the most kinds of products in China.
However, the parts of the products are not necessarily produced by the same factory. Most factories work as part of a supply chain. Every factory has its position so it is easy for them to manage the plan of manufacturing.
The Factories in the Same Industry are Geographically Close
If you are looking for clothes, you can find it in Guangzhou, Dongguan or Zhejiang. For light, you should find factories in Zhongshan. Ceramics are in Jiangxi. Speakers and amplifiers are in Guangzhou, where Laix Audio Located.
Efficient Manufacturing
The Geographically close and complete supply chain provides the environment for efficient manufacturing.
The big amount of factories also helps them easy to find ways to learn from each other. For example, production lines are very common even in a small factory.
Large Difference
Although there are many factories in China, Quality and Capability are different from factory to factory.
Most Chinese factories are small and the number of workers is below 20. The things they can produce are limited and fixed. With no ability to develop, basically they just do what you tell them to do. There are no engineers. The Boss is sales.You can ask them like “Hey! I am looking for this product. Can you produce it?” The answer is whether “Yes” or “No”, nothing else. You are not going to hear something like “No exactly the same, but we can add the function on the product we have. We can redesign the case and add one more control for this.”
Factories that have workers more than 20 starts to shows the structure of management and carry more abilities. And they start to hire engineers and sales. You can ask them like “Hey! I have a product like this but I want to make a new model. I want to change the color and the panel, but not too much. And I want to add functions A, B and C. Remove the function D, customer hates it.” And you, the engineers and the sales will take some time to confirm the detail before the order is placed. This is pretty like how Laix Audio does most of the time.
Factories that have even more workers and engineers will start to focus on the R & D capabilities. They can produce high-level and deeply customized products. Whatever you want, as long as in their area, no big deal. Because they have mastered the core technology and have a lot of resources. But you also need to place a big order and built deep trust with them, the time you discuss before the product start to produce will be very long.
Competitive Price
The prices a China factory offers are reasonable most of the time. Because customers are easy to find another factory if they quote the price too high.
But be careful if you find a very low price than the average price. That is unlikely to get the usual quality you want.

In China, the total length of roads is 4,773,500 kilometers, and the highways are 136,500 kilometers. It provide very efficient transport in China, helps to cooperate and communicate.
